“…the most captivating documentary I’ve seen in a long time.”

With so many people focused on ensuring that this astounding plant doesn’t go extinct, it only seems fair that a documentary is brought into express the sentiments possessed by each of these individuals. While the Rhododendron is only a small sample of what all of nature has to offer, Pushed Up the Mountain conveys a sense of urgency that allows viewers to understand the importance of nature in its entirety.

This topic that appears insignificant on the surface and incapable of carrying a film for more than an hour proves to be quite the opposite. The Rhododendron, and what Haslett is able to bring to life, is unique and groundbreaking, allowing Pushed Up the Mountain the ability to stand up to any other documentary I’ve seen.

While the subject at hand, Rhododendrons, seems unappealing and drab, Haslett is able to present this topic in such a gleaming light that nearly everyone can hop aboard the Rhododendron train. The scenery is breathtaking. The words of the many interviewees and the importance of what the plant has to offer keeps Pushed Up the Mountain flowing smoothly, continuing to grip viewers throughout. Haslett and her crew do a wonderful job explaining and educating throughout Pushed Up the Mountain, providing everyone a reason to enjoy the content and its numerous messages. This is truly the most captivating documentary I’ve seen in a long time.
